State Museum Showcases Native American Bead Work
JEFFERSON CITY - Beginning today at 2 p.m. people can take a behind-the-scenes tour of a collection of Native American bead work showcased at the Missouri State Museum.
During the tour, participants will see the collection and learn about Mary Alicia Owen. Owen is a Missouri woman who became a world-renowned folklorist in the late 19th century.
Author Greg Olson wrote a book about Owen and will also be there to discuss her life and career.
