Stockton Collects Bronze Medal for NAIA Weight Throw
GENEVA, OH -- Anthony Stockton collected a bronze medal finish in the Weight Throw at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships being held at the SPIRE Indoor Track and Field Sports Complex on Friday.
The junior posted a school-record and personal best mark in the event of 19.50m (63-11 3/4), an improvement of nearly two feet over his seed mark and previous personal best. Four of Stockton's six throws in the event were further than 19 meters, and he interrupted a podium sweep by Hastings College with the finish.
Stockton will compete in the shot put event on Saturday, looking to repeat his bronze-medal finish from 2011 meet. Ryan Meyer will also compete on Saturday, running in the finals of the 5,000-meter run.
