COLUMBIA - The discovery of a stolen car also led to two drug arrests Tuesday night. According to a Boone County Sheriff's Department news release, a deputy pulled over two women driving a car thought to have been stolen from Jefferson City.
The car was stopped at 9:00 p.m. on I-70 at Stadium Boulevard. The two women claim that the car was given to them by another person. During the investigation, the deputy discovered evidence of drugs.
The news release says the 54 year-old Columbia driver, Nancy McDaniel, was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 50 year-old female passenger and Columbia resident, Teresa Whittington, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. McDaniel and Whittington are also being investigated on charges of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
The stolen vehicle investigation is still on-going by the Jefferson City Police.
