Stolen firearms recovered in Cole County
COLE COUNTY – Officers from the Cole County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson City Police Department recovered nine firearms during a search warrant execution in the 5000 block of Opel Drive in Henley, Mo on Saturday morning.
According to a press release from the Cole County Sheriff’s Office, those firearms were stolen from vehicles in Jefferson City, Holt’s Summit and Cole County.
“We are thankful to have taken nine stolen firearms off the streets,” the release said.
Officers took a 21-year-old male and a 17-year-old female into custody. Their names have not yet been released.
The release thanked CCSO Deputy Detective Sergeant Kevin Woodson and JCPD Detective Jason Ambler for their work on the search warrant execution.
“Law enforcement works best when agencies work well together. I extend thanks to Detective Ambler and (Jefferson City Police Department) Chief (Roger) Schroeder,” Cole County Sheriff Greg White said in the release.
Detectives will contact victims to verify ownership of the stolen firearms.
