STOVER - The Stover Police Department said Monday it is holding Joshua Micheal Gerlach of Stover for abusing a two month old infant. Police said they were contacted by the Jefferson City Police Department on November 19 in reference to the infant who was in the Capital Region Medical Center emergency room.

Police were advised the infant had head injuries consistent with being physically abused. The Stover Police, Morgan County Sheriff and the State Technical Assistant Team conducted an investigation into the injuries of the infant. During the investigation Gerlach,32, was taken into custody.

The Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed for and received a warrant for Gerlach for abuse or neglect of a child with serious emotional or physical injury.

Gerlach's bond is set at $100,000 cash or bond.
