STURGEON - Boone County sheriff's deputies are still looking for a Sturgeon area man who allegedly scammed his elderly relatives in April of last year.
Detective Tom O'Sullivan said Tuesday that 44-year-old Farrel Gene Pride is suspected of scamming a Colorado couple out of $109,000. One of Pride's relatives is terminally ill.
Deputies said the couple contacted the department after the incident.
O'Sullivan said Tuesday that after a lengthy investigation, the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney issued a warrant for Pride on Jan. 3. The department said despite numerous attempts by multiple law enforcement agencies to locate Pride, he remains at large.
The department encouraged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
