Summer Festivals In Full Swing

COLUMBIA- Crews continue to prepare for Columbia's Summer Fest Friday. Girl Talk is the main event for the night along with two other opening acts. The music gets going at 7 p.m. and tickets cost 25 dollars.

Girl Talk will finish up at 10:30 p.m. but the party doesn't stop there. There is an after party inside of The Blue Note with other bands and entertainment. If Summerfest isn't your cup of tea you can head to the Fulton Street Fair or Kingdom City's Fantasy Fair.

The Historic Fulton Street Fair celebrates its community and mule history with live mule auction, mechanical mule derby and live music on two stages. There will also be a Miss Callaway County pageant, 5K race, Kids mile, Grand Parade, carnival rides, and of course, food and crafts.

It is free to walk around. If you are interested in riding some of the rides you can bring cash or buy a wristband for 15 dollars. That wristband will allow you unlimted access to all of the rides for that day. This festival runs all weekend.

At Kingdom City's Fantasy Fair people will be dressed up in renaissance, medieval and fairy costumes. There will be fire breathers, singers, acrobats other entertainment and vendors.

This fair is open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m to 10 p.m. On Sunday it will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All children under 5 years old are free. Everyone over the age of 5 will be 8 dollars.
