COLUMBIA — Officials reported in a press release that a male victim said a man named Jerry Goldman, 30, put a gun to his head and threatened to kill him outside a residence on Fourth Avenue late Wednesday night. The victim reported Goldman was under the influence of a controlled substance.
A press release stated officers located Jerry Goldman Thursday morning outside of a home on Fourth Avenue seated in the passenger seat of a white Cadillac by himself.
Goldman took off running when he saw the officers. Authorities took Goldman into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Officers located powder cocaine in Goldman's front pocket and four handguns in the back seat of Goldman's. Authorities said one of the hand guns was reported stolen.
Officials found additional quantity of crack cocaine in the vehicle. Goldman is currently on probation and parole for homicide.
Authorities arrested Goldman for armed criminal action with a bond of $200,000, second degree assault with a to be set bond, distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce controlled substance with a to be set bond, unlawful for certain persons to possess conceal weapons with a to be set bond, distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce controlled substance with a to be set bond, resisting or interfering with an arrest with a to be set bond and receiving stolen property with a to be set bond.
