Suspect arrested in mid-Missouri child abuse case
MOBERLY - The Moberly Police Department announced Friday it arrested Trevor Bruce, who had a $50,000 outstanding warrant for child abuse. The arrest came late Thursday night.
Officers found Bruce, 28, inside of a Moberly residence where they said he resisted arrest before being taken into custody. Bruce faces possible charges of resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. Bruce was charged earlier this week with abuse or neglect of a child in Boone County.
Bruce is being held in Randolph County Jail.
Police are still looking for 26-year-old Kattie Palen, who has a $25,000 outstanding warrant for child abuse. Bruce and Palen went on the run after doctors concluded that injuries to Palen's 5-month-old child were not the result of a fall like Bruce and Palen claimed. Doctors also said there was evidence the child had been shaken.
Columbia Police put out a public plea for help Thursday in finding the two suspects.
Officers asked anyone with information to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
