Suspect Charged in KCK Rapes
KANSAS CITY (AP) - Wyandotte County authorities have charged a 39-year-old convicted rapist from Missouri in two recent rapes in Kansas City, Kan.
The Kansas City, Kan., police department said Nicholas Martin was arrested Friday evening in Kansas City, Mo.
Michael Russell, the district attorney's chief deputy, told The Kansas City Star that Martin is charged with two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of aggravated criminal sodomy. The rapes occurred Monday and Tuesday.
Kansas City, Kan., police said they received dozens of tips after they released a composite sketch of the alleged rapist.
Martin was convicted in Missouri in 1990 on charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated rape.
