Suspect in Ohio killing arrested after Joplin standoff
JOPLIN (AP) — A 22-year-old man has been arrested on an Ohio homicide warrant after a four-hour standoff in southwest Missouri's Joplin.
The Joplin Globe reported police announced Thursday that Davon Granger, of Joplin, was apprehended Wednesday night after a police dog found him under a house. No attorney was listed for him in online court records in Missouri.
Granger was one of three people charged in the killing of 29-year-old Courtney Elmore. Granger has been accused of shooting Elmore in May 2015 as he climbed into a van in Columbus, Ohio.
The Columbus Dispatch reported 28-year-old Chiquetta Hager, of Zanesville, Ohio, is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and abduction. A third suspect, 30-year-old Dante Young, has been charged with tampering with evidence in the case.
