Suspect Resists Arrest by Fulton Police
FULTON - The Fulton Police Department responded to a "leaving the scene" accident at approximately 11:33 p.m. Friday. According to a press release from the police, a Pontiac sideswiped a Honda parked on the 400 block of East Eighth Street in Fulton. The Pontiac then fled the scene, leaving the Honda with heavy damage. Witnesses saw the driver and passenger of the Pontiac switch seats and drive away without waiting for the police to arrive.
Fulton officers later located the vehicle, but it failed to stop. The suspect Pontiac traveled westbound on Route F and eventually ran off the road at Amerihost Drive in Fulton. Police arrested the driver at the time of the crash, 33-year-old Thomas Schneider. He first resisted arrest. They also took passenger Daniel Foreman, 24, into custody. Police found an undisclosed amount of marijuana in Schneider's vehicle. Both men are residents of Auxvasse.
Police arrested Schneider for two counts of felony resisting arrest, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle and possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. Officials transported the two men to the Callaway County Jail with bond set at $10,000 each.
