COLUMBIA - Claire Garden is preparing for her house to be on the Sustainable Living Fair mini solar tour Saturday.

The fair is sponsored by the Peaceworks' Center for Sustainable Living. The fair features workshops, educational vendors and booths, networking opportunities and a mini solar tour of houses that utilize sustainable living options such as solar panels.

"They want to know what our experience has been, especially financially," Garden said. "What it costs, what it saves us on electricity."

Garden said she also plans to share information regarding insulation with people on the tours. She said that it doesn't make sense to spend the money on solar panels if your heat is going out through poorly insulated roofs.

"It's a chance to learn things," Director of Mid Missouri Peaceworks' Mark Haim Said. "To meet people who are providing access to resources."

The fair will take place tomorrow from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbia.
