SW Mo. Man to Stand Trial in Fatal Car Crash
WEBB CITY - A southwest Missouri man has been ordered to stand trial in a double-fatality car crash.
The Joplin Globe reports that a preliminary hearing was held Wednesday in Jasper County Circuit Court for 27-year-old Jonathan Snyder of Webb City. Afterward, a judge ruled there was enough evidence to try him on two counts of involuntary manslaughter and a single charge of second-degree assault.
Snyder is accused of driving drunk in June when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving while traveling too fast around a curve.
Twenty-five-year-old Christian Beasley, of Webb City, and 24-year-old Kristopher Hawkins, of Asbury, were thrown from the vehicle as it rolled three times. They died at the scene of the crash. A fourth occupant was injured.
