COLUMBIA - An overnight altercation in the 11,000 block of Route 63 north led to the SWAT team being called and a man being sent to the hospital.

Police initially responded to a domestic disturbance call and found Chester Brown in possession of a gun. Brown then locked himself inside his residence and refused to open the door.

Police later discovered Brown had shot at the woman who initially called to make the 911 report.

Police arrested Brown on suspicion of first degree domestic violence and armed criminal action.

Brown is currently in the Boone County jail awaiting a formal bond hearing.
