TARGET 8: Clients say Columbia spa owner dodging appointments
COLUMBIA - KOMU 8 News received several tips about a Columbia skin care company selling services that were never performed.
The Better Business Bureau Regional Manager Mike Harrison confirmed the BBB received a complaint about the company Skin Solutions and is working at getting in touch with its owner.
Skin Solutions client Jackielyn Kemper reached out to KOMU 8 News and said she received a facial at Skin Solutions on August 12. She said she liked it so much she purchased six more facials, costing about $500. Kemper said on the day of her second appointment, Sept. 15, the spa's owner canceled. She canceled appointments on two additional occasions.
Kemper shared the text messages from Oct. 14 and Oct. 21 with KOMU 8 News showing the alleged correspondence between the owner and herself. Her last message to the owner reads, "I've been calling skin solutions, but get no answer. You are still open right?"
Kemper said there was not a response.
KOMU 8 News reached out to the owner on Thursday and Friday, but had not heard back Friday evening. Calls went to voice mail and were not returned. Reporters also stopped by the business on both Thursday and Friday during posted business hours, but the office was locked.
Harrison said anyone facing problems with this or any company should file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
