Task Force Meets to Discuss Hinkson Creek
COLUMBIA - The Hinkson Creek Collaborative Adaptive Management Action Team met Friday morning to discuss the future of Hinkson Creek.
The group hosted Bob Hagedorn from the USDA. Hagedorn talked about programs that can help Columbia residents who own land on Hinkson Creek and educating landowners about erosion and water quality.
The team also discussed plans for testing Hinkson Creek's water and began planning a tour of Hinkson Creek. The tour is slated to take place in September.
Hinkson Creek was placed on the impaired streams list 14 years ago, and the task force was created in March to find the cause of Hinkson Creek's pollution and runoff issues.
The group will meet again on July 18th to continue talks about testing Hinkson Creek.
