Teen Arrested in Hit-And-Run Death of Toddler
SPANISH LAKE (AP) - A 17-year-old suspect is now facing charges in the hit-and-run death of a St. Louis County toddler.
Charges of leaving the scene of an accident were filed Tuesday against Charles Guice. He is jailed on $50,000 bond.
Police say the teenager was arrested Monday, hours after investigators found the 2013 Dodge Durango that struck and killed 2-year-old Darrion Griffin. The child was struck Sunday evening in north St. Louis County. A 17-year-old female relative of Darrion was also hit as she tried to pull the child to safety. She had minor injuries.
Witnesses told police that the child was trying to cross the street to play with his sister when a speeding SUV hit him.
