COLUMBIA - The Columbia City Council will talk about several proposed parking violation increases Monday night.

Some of the proposals include changing the times for on-street meter parking. The times people would have to pay would change from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fees for parking tickets would also increase if the proposal passed. On-street parking meter violations are now $10 but would increase to $15. Off-street parking violations would go from $5 to $15.

The city says potential revenue for 2014 could be about $640,000 and $960,000 for 2015.

The council will only talk, not vote, on the issue Monday night.
