Third suspect arrested in relation to a March 26 shots fired incident
COLUMBIA - Columbia Police have arrested a third suspect in relation to a March 26 shots fired incident in the Indian Hills neighborhood.
Kevin Buckner, 18, was booked into the Boone County jail on Thursday. He, Damon Thompson and Malik Townsend have been charged for the March incident, in which a man said someone shot at his car while he and his child were inside. Thompson and Townsend were arrested previously.
According to police, when officers Buckner to the jail, they found a baggie with marijuana flakes. When detectives asked Bucker to open his mouth he refused. Buckner eventually opened his mouth and a green, leafy substance could be seen in his teeth.
Buckner was arrested for a warrant related to the shots fired incident and a misdemeanor for tampering with physical evidence. His bond is set at $150,000 with a cash bond of $10,000.
