Thousands in Emergency Funds Available for 9 Counties
JEFFERSON CITY - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security have provided federal aid that will be split between nine Missouri counties.
The North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) out of Paris reports there is $29,000 available for emergency food and shelter programs.
The program covers Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Shelby and Warren counties.
Local government agencies and non-profit groups can request money by contacting Linda Fritz at NECAC by calling 573-324-2170.
The deadline for applications is December 23rd.
