Thousands of Columbia residents without 911 service
COLUMBIA - More than 7,500 Columbia residents were without 911 service after an outage Sunday.
Boone County Joint Communications said it received reports of the outage around noon.
Joint Communications was working with technicians from CenturyLink to restore service.
Residents without 911 service are instructed to call the non-emergency number at (573) 442-6131, and dial "1" as soon as the menu prompts.
The outage was the second 911 outage Boone County Joint Communications reported in the last three days.
