Three men arrested for Jefferson City armed robbery
JEFFERSON CITY - Three men were in jail after police arrested them for an alleged armed robbery Wednesday night.
Jefferson City Police arrested the following men, all from Jefferson City:
- John Russell, 19
- Travion Williams, 17
- Austin Roark, 18
The men were in the Cole County Jail. The victim, a 19-year-old Jefferson City man, was not hurt during the robbery.
Jefferson City Police responded to the situation around 10:30 p.m. on West Edgewood Drive and Creek Trail Drive. The victim told police three suspects approached him in a car and offered to sell him "pills." Captain Doug Shoemaker said when the victim refused the offer, one suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money.
The victim gave the suspects an undetermined amount of money and they drove away. Shoemaker said detectives found a vehicle at the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street matching the description the suspect gave and waited for them to get back in the car. Shoemaker said police stopped them shortly after the three suspects left and took them all into custody.
Police said they found a black airsoft pistol and identified it as the handgun used in the robbery. Shoemaker said officers interviewed all three suspects and got confessions.
