Three Shot, One Injured in Gregory Heights Disturbance
BOONE COUNTY, MO - Three people were shot and another assaulted at the 5900 block of Gregory Drive North of Columbia early this morning.
There, Boone County sheriff's deputies found a man, 24, and a woman, 22, with gunshot wounds. A short while later, Columbia Police found another man, 27, in a parked car on Lawnridge Drive with gunshot wounds. A third man, 21, told deputies he had been physically assaulted at the Gregory Drive disturbance.
That man, as well as the 22-year-old female victim, were released from the hospital about 9:00 am Saturday morning. However, the two male victims still remain hospitalized in critical care.
Deputies have now identified Christopher Dwayne Brown, 27, as the lone shooter and are actively attempting to locate him. Brown is a black male, five-feet-ten-inches tall and weighs approximately 300 pounds.
One detective said the suspect Brown has been in trouble before.
"I will say that Brown has had quite a number of contact with law-enforcement over the years," said Thomas O'Sullivan.
The grandmother of one of the victims said she witnessed the whole thing.
"My grandson is now on life-support and he is my only grandson, it's so sad that this happened."
Anyone with information on Brown's whereabouts is urged to contact Crimestoppers at 875-TIPS (8477). A reward is being offered for information leading to Brown's capture.
