Three turkeys stolen from church
JOPLIN (AP) — Three turkeys left for defrosting overnight were stolen from a Joplin church.
The Joplin Globe reports that the theft at Unity Baptist Church on Minnesota Avenue was noticed Tuesday afternoon and reported to police. Police say entry to the church appeared to have been through a back door that was possibly left unlocked.
Cabinets and drawers in the church's kitchen appeared to have been rummaged through, but the turkeys were the only items reported missing. There was no immediate word on whether the culprit had been found.
