Tiger Quarterback Club hosts banquet for Mizzou Football's signing day
COLUMBIA – Fans will have a chance to take in the signing day action Wednesday morning. The official booster club for Mizzou football is hosting a luncheon at Memorial Stadium for national signing day.
The incoming Tiger class is ranked 48th in the nation based on commitments, according to 247 Sports. A standout in this class is the distinct lack of Missouri players.
Mizzou only has one commitment from a Missouri player heading into signing day. That is the lowest ever for Mizzou Football. In addition, the Tigers do not have any Mid-Missouri commitments with the only Missouri player coming from Lee’s Summit.
Columbia was home to some highly recruited players like Jaevon McQuitty of Battle High school and Thomas Dutton of Hickman. Mizzou did not extend an offer to either player. McQuitty has committed to Nebraska and Dutton has committed to Air Force.
Even so, Missouri has picked up the pace in other states for recruits. Texas has yielded the most commitments of any state with four. Kyle Bowers, a past President of Tiger Quarterback Club, says fans are still very hopeful for the new class.
“It’s Coach Odom and staff’s first recruiting class. It’s very strong and it’s gonna be exciting. I’m sure they’re filling the needs and it’s and exciting time as they get to implement their new system here at Mizzou,” Bowers said.
The club’s banquet will run from 11:30 to 1:00. Members will hear from Mizzou coaches as the recruit signatures come in.
News of signatures will be rolling in all day Wednesday and Mizzou Football will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m.
