Tigers Head to Omaha with No. 2 NCAA Bid in West Region
COLUMBIA - The Missouri Tigers learned Sunday they will head to Omaha as the number two seed in the West region of the NCAA basketball tournament. Mizzou failed to secure a number one seed in the tournament. Many fans feared Kansas would take that spot instead, but the Jayhawks also failed to secure a number one seed. North Carolina took the number one spot in the Midwest region.
The Tigers will face the 15 seed Norfolk State Spartans from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). The Spartans won their conference with a 25-9 record this season. Mizzou and Norfolk State will play Friday in Omaha. Should Mizzou defeat the Spartans, the Tigers would face the winner of the Florida-Virgina game.
