COLUMBIA, -- Mizzou Women's Golf sits in third place after the first round at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate. Baylor and Mississippi lead the way. The Tigers shot 298 on the day, which comes out to 10-over-par. Tulsa (+14) and Southern Mississippi (+15) sit in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Senior Marissa Cook leads the Tigers as she shot a 72 for even par on the day, and three Tigers currently hold spots in the top 20 at the tournament.

Cook's performance puts her in third place in the tournament. Cook came back with four birdies in the round to stay even with par after starting off with a bogey on her first hole.

"It was a very solid start for us," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "We got off to a very fast start and lost a few shots at the end of the round. It was nice to see more consistent play out there, and Marissa Cook had a great day. We need to build on what we started today and keep playing with confidence."

Freshman Alina Rogers is currently tied for eighth in the tournament as she closed the first round 2-over-par. Senior Hannah Lovelock is just one stroke behind Rogers as she recorded a birdie on the front nine to finish 3-over-par. Lovelock is tied for 19th in the tournament.

The Tigers head out for round two Saturday at 8 a.m. The third round will be played on Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m. as well.
