"It was a very solid start for us," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "We got off to a very fast start and lost a few shots at the end of the round. It was nice to see more consistent play out there, and Marissa Cook had a great day. We need to build on what we started today and keep playing with confidence."
Freshman Alina Rogers is currently tied for eighth in the tournament as she closed the first round 2-over-par. Senior Hannah Lovelock is just one stroke behind Rogers as she recorded a birdie on the front nine to finish 3-over-par. Lovelock is tied for 19th in the tournament.
The Tigers head out for round two Saturday at 8 a.m. The third round will be played on Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m. as well.
