Tigers on the Prowl "unleashed" the painted tigers at the mall
COLUMBIA – Tigers on the Prowl, a local charity organization, hosted the "Tigers Unleashed" event at the Columbia Mall Friday.
Tigers on the Prowl coordinated with 12 "tiger teams" to paint and display a fiberglass tigers. Each tiger will be auctioned off. All the money collected from the auction and through any other sales goes directly to the charity each tiger team represents.
Several local companies bought a tiger and sponsored a local artist to paint it.

Last year, Tigers on the Prowl raised $48,000, with one tiger bringing in $7,500 alone. All the money spent on each tiger goes entirely to the corresponding charity.
Some of the charities include The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, Central Missouri Honor Flight, and the Children's Hospital at the University of Missouri.
After the event, visitors were encouraged to take pictures of their favorite tiger.
All the tigers will remain on display at the Columbia Mall. After they are displayed at the mall, they will be on display at the Boone County Fairgrounds, the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival and at the Hy-Vees in Columbia. The tigers will be auctioned on October 3 at The Crossing Church.
