Today's Talk: Capitol reviewing intern policy
COLUMBIA - Following the resignation of former House Speaker John Diehl over texts exchanged with a capitol intern, a group is reviewing capitol intern policy.
Missouri Speaker of the House Todd Richardson asked the group to talk to universities about how policies concerning interns in the capitol can be improved. He said members of the House clerk's staff, legislative researchers, lawmakers and others would compare that with other states' policies.
Richardson said a review of the current policy would be one of his top priorities after the session ended.
How do you think lawmakers are responding to Diehl's resignation? Do you think this followup goes far enough?
