Todd Akin Continues Campaign in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - At 8:15 this Wednesday morning Newt Gingrich and Todd Akin will hold a "Standing With Courage Rally" at Union Station.
Gingrich is helping raise money for the Missouri senate candidate for the second time.
With help, Akin said he'll no longer be outspent like he has been since the summer.
Akin says going forward he'll match his democratic rival Claire McCaskill in the final week of the race.
McCaskill, however, has missed another day on the campaign trail following the death of her mother on Monday afternoon.
As reported earlier, 84-year old Betty Anne McCaskill died after a long struggle with heart and kidney problems.
McCaskill's campaign gave no indication of when, or if, Claire McCaskill would return.
In terms of who is leading in this race, a recent poll released Sunday showed McCaskill leading Akin 45 to 43-percent, which is within the surveys 4-point margin of error.
