Todd Akin Releases Apology Ad

MISSOURI - Rep. Todd Akin (R) released a new ad Tuesday asking for forgiveness after his comments about "legitimate" rape landed him in hot water.
In an interview with KTVI in St. Louis, Akin was discussing abortion in relation to pregnancies resulting from rape. Akin said, "it seems to me, first of all, from what I understand from doctors that's really rare. If it's a legitimate rape the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
The comment has caused trouble for Akin's campaign, even prompting some Republican supporters to request he withdraw from the U.S. Senate race.
