Tournament Tees Up $11,200 for Police
COLUMBIA - Monday, the Columbia Police Department received a nice check for $11,200 which will be used, in the unfortunate event that a Columbia Police Office is shot in the line of duty. Cheif Randy Boehm, of CPD says, "Maybe more importantly than that, it's nice to see that kind of support for law enforcement in the community because everyone contributes. They know what they're contributing to and our officers see that as an indication of support from the community. And so that's something we use everyday."
When added to last years total, the officer down fund has topped $15,000. Next year's golf tournament will be held the third monday in may, at the columbia country club.
