Tractor-Trailer Accident Yields Serious Injuries
RANDOLPH COUNTY - The Moberly Police Department responded to an injury accident in the 1300 block of East U.S. 24 at approximately 5:51 a.m. Saturday.
The accident occurred when Donald Ragsdale, 78, of Paris, Mo. was travelling westbound and collided with a Mack semi tractor-trailer. Robert Cooney, the driver of the tractor-trailor, was making a right turn onto a private drive while also travelling westbound.
According to a press release from the police department, Ragsdale was unresponsive at the scene of the accident, and he sustained "extensive injuries." Rescue workers transported Ragsdale to the Moberly Regional Medical Center and later transferred him to University Hospital in Columbia.
The Randolph County Ambulance District, the Moberly Fire Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department assisted the police department with this incident.
