Tratando de ayudar con el ingles

Pero en Columbia hay una clase disenada para que los estudiantes consigan ayuda en clases basicas como matematicas, ciencias y govierno. La clase se llama recurso de ingles.

Nancy Malugani: "El hecho de que yo soy bilingue, entonces se nos ocurrio la idea de poder ayudar especificamente a los chicos latinos"

El programa de ingles trabaja para cubrir las necesidades individuales de cada estudiante. Para esta profesora de espanol su clase de recurso es una gran ayuda que los latinos reciben.

 Nancy Malugani: "Por un lado si no comprenden la tarea, el examen, lo que sea. Yo puedo interpretar para ellos que es lo que dice."

Y ella lo hace por que en este grupo ella ve reflejado a sus hijos.

Nancy Malugani: "Me gusta ayudar.. y los chicos latinos son muchos y necesitan ayuda"

Aunque esta clase de recurso de ingles es un esfuerzo extra para mejorar el programa de ingles como segundo idioma, la frustracion de los estudiantes, profesores y el distrito es evidente."

Audrey Hoyos: "El programa no me ha ayudado mucho. Uno aprende es hablar con los companeros y a veces en las clases uno le toca aprender"

Segun Malugani los profesores tratan de communicarse y ayudar a los estudiantes.

Nancy Malugani: "Somos concientes en general, en general es conciente, de que es necesario poner dar mas ingles antes de sumergir a los chicos en la clases"

Necesidad que el distrito de las escuelas publicas tambien reconoce.

Judy Trujillo:"We need additonal teachers...Necesitamos mas profesores y personal especialemente en el nivel de secundaria.  When they are getting into... Cuando estan entrando en clases con un nivel de contenido alto. Ellos estan tratando de entender ingles, dominar el contenido y ganar creditos para poder graduarse, todo al mismo tiempo."

Pero un cambio en el programa requiere mas dinero y espacio.

Judy Trujillo: "What I would like.... Los que me gustaria ver en un par de anos es un centro para los estudiantes de secundaria donde puedan recibir clases de ingles intensivo tan pronto entren a nuestras escuelas."

Pero por el momento... El distrito y maestros como malugani tienen que hacer lo mejor posible con el sistema que tienen. Y los estudiantes.

Nancy Malugani :"No se den por vencido, una cosa que jamas haces es darte por vencido."

Tanto malugani como el distrito de las escuelas publicas estan deacuerdo que para mejorar las cosas es necesario que los padres se involucren mas en la educacion de sus hijos. Gracias por su sintonia, soy Geraldine Cols y esto fue KOMU en Espanol.
