BOONE COUNTY - The Boone County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a tractor trailer rollover on Route N North Friday morning. It happened just west of Finger Lakes State Park, north and west of Columbia.

Battalion Chief Gale Blomenkamp said the driver of the vehicle was able to crawl out of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The driver was not seriously injured but did experience arm and back pain.

Blomenkamp said it may take a couple of hours to get the truck upright and towed away due to the narrowness of the road and the weight of the limestone rocks on the truck. The accident closed both lanes of Route N North.

"Hopefully it's open by noon," said Blomenkamp, "At this point its just a matter of waiting for that right tow truck to get here to turn this thing back over."

The Boone County Fire Protection District said the rollover was not speed related.
