Truman VA Honors POWs, MIAs
COLUMBIA - The Truman VA Hospital held a ceremony Friday to honor former prisoners of war as well as the 38 servicemen from Missouri who are still considered missing In action. Friday was National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Former prisoners of war and their families gathered to sing the national anthem, God Bless America, say the Pledge of Allegiance, and receive recognition for their efforts.
The ceremony was also a time for the former prisoners of war to reflect on the tough times they went through and find comfort in others who went through the same experiences.
