Turkey Creek Golf Center Still Underwater With No Answers From City Officials
JEFFERSON CITY - A local golf course owner said Tuesday he has yet to hear from city officials as to why he was not notified of the city's decision to install levees before last week's heavy rainfall.
Turkey Creek Golf Center owner Danny Baumgartner said Turkey Creek flooded due to the way the levees were put in. He said he could have removed all essential gear from the course within two hours had he been notified. He said he wants to contact the city after he assesses the flooding situation and talks to attorneys a bit more.
The pump box used to water the greens on the golf course is underwater. Baumgartner said he can't get to the pump box to water the greens that are not underwater. He said the pump box costs around $15,000 to $20,000.
