Twelve Blue Tigers Earn All-American Honors

JEFFERSON CITY — Twelve Lincoln athletes have been named All-Americans by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after scoring at least a point at the Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Four Blue Tigers earned multiple All-American honors, including Latoya King and Romel Lewis, who won the national title in the 60-meter dash events.

LU's women's 4x400-meter relay team won an event national title with a time of 3:40.07, which was the best time in Div. II all season. Members of the relay team are Donna-Lee Hylton, Yanique Haye, Michelle Cumberbatch and Lovan Palmer.

Other LU athletes earning All-American honors include Anna-Kay James in the 60-meter hurdles, Twishana Williams in the mile-run, Sheri Kaye Campbell in the high jump and Daniele Newman in the triple jump.

Lincoln finished the indoor season track and will now focus on the Outdoor season starting March 16. The Blue Tigers will open up the season at the Central Methodist Open in Fayette, Missouri.
