Twins Take Over Woods
For some alumna age will never keep them away from their alma mater.
Twins Violet Lehman and Vivian Updike don't let distance keep them apart.
"We're used to being together, you know, together is just part of our life," said Lehman.
And they still come back to William Woods University as often as they can, and things sure have changed since they graduated in 1932.
"You were limited. You had to walk down Court Street instead of getting in the car with your date, and you had to sign in, sign out, you know," said Lehman.
To kick off the weekend's celebrations, the alumni board decided to plan a special surprise for the sisters.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the twins graduation. So in their honor, the Alumni Board decided to dedicate a room on the second story to the sisters.
"I never in a thousand years would think that they'd want to do this, but it's such an honor," said Lehman.
It's a room in the Alumni House that both sisters have stayed in many times. And now, they've left their mark, both on the room, and on the school.
The room will be used to house other alumni and special guests of the university.
