Two Car Accident Sends Man to Hospital
COLUMBIA - A man was sent to the University of Missouri Hospital after a head-on collision with an SUV on Nifong Boulevard. Columbia Police Officer Kyle Deornellassays the accident happened when a vehicle traveling south bound tried to turn and a vehicle in the eastbound lane tried to turn. The two vehicles collided in the median on Nifong in front of Hy-Vee Gas. At the time of the accident, traffic was able to pass on the shoulder.
After receiving a call from her mother, one of the victim's daughters arrived at the accident. Although her mother was not injured, she said she was very shook up.
Officer Deornellas says accidents are more common this time of year because there is more congestion in the city and drivers should be sure to look twice before pulling out of any drive.
The man taken to the hospital was complaining of neck pain.
