Two Columbia women charged after attempted burglary
CAMDEN COUNTY - Two Columbia women were arrested after an attempted burglary in Camden County late Tuesday night.
The Camden County Sheriff's Department said Kimberly Hoffman and Christine Nowlin broke into an apartment on Scarsdale Circle in Four Seasons around midnight Tuesday.
The department said the two women attempted to slip the lock to the residence with a nail file before apparently successfully slipping it with a plastic card. The 911 caller knew the apartment's resident wasn't home and called dispatch at the sight of the two women with flashlights.
Deputies arrested the women, who were in possession of methamphetamine, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.
Both women were charged with 2nd degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Nowlin was additionally charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
