Two People Arrested in Boonville on Drug Charges
BOONVILLE - Boonville police arrested two people on drug allegations Sunday evening.
A Boonville officer reported smelling drugs near the 500 block of South Street at 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The officer said he found items burning in a yard along with one person who had minor burns. He said a small fire in the home was already extinguished and the officer reported it was apparently ignited from drug activity.
Boonville police took several items associated with the possession, manufacture, use and distribution of drugs. Police reported some evidence could be used to grow marijuana.
Police arrested 29-year-old Derrick J. Coady and 26-year-old Jessica D. Corley. Both face felony and misdemeanor charges with individual bonds of $50,000.
The Boonville Police Chief Bobby Welliver said the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cooper County Prosecuting Attorney's office helped with the investigation.
