Two Suspected Murderers Among Mo. Jail Escapees
ST. LOUIS - Authorities in southeast Missouri are conducting a frantic search for two murder suspects and a third man who escaped from a county jail. The escape happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday at the Butler County Jail in Poplar Bluff. Authorities say Matthew Brandon Cook, Kade Reaves Stringfellow and Rodney Joe Green escaped through the ceiling.
All three men are considered armed and dangerous. Prior to the escape, all three were jailed awaiting trial.
Cook is charged with first-degree murder in the February shooting death of a man at a McDonald's parking lot in Advance, Mo. Stringfellow, of Portageville, Mo., is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his infant son. Green faces several charges for robbing and shooting a rural Butler County couple during a home invasion in February. The couple survived.
