UM Presidential Search Now in Tenth Month
COLUMBIA - As the University of Missouri Presidential Search Committee holds its second meeting in a week's time Monday night, its search for a new leader is now 10 months old.
KOMU 8 asked questions about how the length of the search for the System's 23rd leader stacks up against similar state higher education groups. Spokespeople from schools in Texas, Arkansas and Illinois responded.
University of Texas System: 6 months.
University of Illinois System: 6 months.
University of Arkansas System: 18 months.
There's also no word on how much the UM System has spent of the $234,500 budget for the presidential search process. That's more than $60,000 less than what the University of Illinois system spent on its latest search.
