Unemployment Rates Are On The Rise
JEFFERSON CITY -The Missouri Department of Economic Development released the unemployment rates for August. In the last month, rates have increased, from 9.2 percent to 9.3 percent.
The state gained 3,600 jobs last month. Local government added 5,400 jobs, and 2,000 jobs were also added in accommodation and food services.
On the other hand, the state lost 3,400 jobs in administrative and support services. The federal government also cut 3,600 jobs.
The national unemployment rate is up from 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent.
