COLUMBIA - Guests of Unity of Columbia's Fall Festival said they had fun while fundraising Sunday. The church held a silent auction and live auction for guests to bid on items such as art and furniture. The silent auction began on Oct. 7 and with the final bids placed Sunday. Pastor Kristin Powell said the money will go toward services the church offers.
"The funds are to just really service all the programs that we offer here, our youth ministry, our music ministry, classes and Sunday services," Powell said.
Unity of Columbia also plans to donate 10 percent of the money to the Missouri CASA Association, or Court Appointed Special Advocates Association. Unity's goal is to raise at least $10,000.
Kids at the event enjoyed the fall weather in a bounce house outside the church, and guests also enjoyed a free concert at lunch.
