LAKE OF THE OZARKS - Local business owners said the unusually warm temperatures have helped them keep their doors open longer this year.
General manager at Paradise Landscaping Bill Mackay said usually by December he and his employees are doing snow removal.
"[Warmer temperatures are] allowing us to continue doing landscaping and that's really what our goal is. The ground is not frozen. I'm already talking to people about pre-doing spring projects to go ahead and start early. People are excited about going ahead and getting projects started now," Mackay said.
Area restaurant workers have not put away the patio furniture and local souvenir shop owners said they are still seeing visitors come to town.
Locals also said the waterway has even been busier with boaters and fishermen than it usually is in December.
