BOONE COUNTY - Boone County Sheriff's deputies clarified that they made no arrests after responding to a call of shots fired at the Kwik Store/BP station on St. Charles Road near Clark Lane.

Deputies responded to the area just before 1 p.m. Friday after a report of shots fired. Witnesses told investigators a man and a woman argued in the parking lot when shots came from a brown Chevrolet Tahoe.

Authorities recovered a semi-automatic pistol in a woman's purse nearby that they say was involved in the shooting.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the shooting.
