HOWARD COUNTY - All three escaped inmates from Pettis County Jail are now in custody Thursday, the Pettis County Sheriff's office said.
Authorities, which included Howard County sheriff's deputies, Fayette police, highway patrolmen and a SWAT team, apprehended the last escapee in a field off of Highway 87. The Pettis County Sheriff's office told KOMU 8 three inmates, two males and one female, escaped by overpowering an officer involved in the transport. The office said troopers caught one of the males and the female and then apprehended the other male by cornering him in a field off Highway 87.
The situation required authorities to station at several locations, often requiring them to rush from one scene to the other.
